My society influences my creativity a great deal.
I was born in 1986 and I am a contemporary painter. I draw much of my inspiration from happenings in my own life and that of my peers. Born and raised in Nairobi’s Kariobangi South estate, I grew to appreciate matatu art and graffiti on walls of residential houses and signboards of business premises in the neighborhood. My collection of comics, whose characters I would copy or improvise to create my own compositions back in primary school, laid the ground work in my approach to figurative compositions. I consider myself a budding cubist with near obsession for geometry and visual assemblages.
